Mary Beth is an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving as the Children’s Program Coordinator at Centro Hispano. Originally from Washington, D.C. and a graduate of The University of Tennessee, she has called Knoxville home for the past five years. A former afterschool program volunteer at Centro, Mary Beth now helps to design and build Centro Hispano’s new childrens’ programs. She recently has worked to develop COVID-19 policy and protocols to ensure the safety of both students and staff at Centro’s on-site and off-site after school programs.
Excited about her continued involvement at Centro Hispano Mary Beth said, “I love Centro because of its focus on fostering community and supporting students.” In her free time Mary Beth enjoys climbing, having a relaxing cup of tea and trying new restaurants in Knoxville.
